Smith & Wesson, Model: Double Action First Model, CAL: 44 Russian., MFG: 1882, SN: 1243, Double Action Revolver, 5'' barrel. 6 Shot. The original S&W monogramed, checkered black hard rubber grips are excellent, with very light wear. The nickeled finish rates 60% overall, with most wear on frame above grips & brown patina developing. Bore is very good, with some light intermittent spotting. Factory sights. Action & cylinder timing function correctly. Only 53,590 produced. The backstrap of the pistol is block letter engraved with the name ''JAMES F. HALLER''. Comes with S&W Factory letter which indicates it was shipped to M.W. Robinson of New York, who was S&W's largest distributor. It also comes with a leather holster, a silver badge stamped: 'CONSTABLE SMYTH COUNTY'', two old black & white photos & box of 20 rounds of .44 Russian cartridges. Low serial number with 1 7/16'' cylinder. A great pistol with history & wonderful accessories. Antique no FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
