RARE! Smith & Wesson Model 1891, CAL: 22, MFG: 1893-05, SN: 18878, Top Break Single Shot Pistol, 8'' barrel. The Smith & Wesson Model 1891s were produced from 1893 to 1905 with a total production in all calibers of only 1,251. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two-line, two block address/patent dates with ''MODEL OF 91'' in the center. The S&W marked, checkered hard rubber grips are excellent, displaying minor nicks & scratches. The nickel finish rates 90% overall, with small areas of spotting & loss. Bore is good, but with roughness. Factory sights. Action appears to function correctly. Very nice overall example. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
