SUPERB Winchester, Model 1873, Third variation, 44 Cal., MFG: 1883, SN: 138288, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Round barrel, Full mag. The original wood stocks are excellent & solid. Wood finish is original, with some very minor handling marks, thin scratches & contusions. The factory metal blue on barrel & mag is 97%. The receiver displays a full 95% of the original high luster blue, with minor scratches & speckled loss thinning, but remains far above average. The case-hardened lever, hammer & trigger shows strong remains of case-colors. Bore is excellent & bright. Barrel fitted with an adjustable buckhorn rear sight & standard front sight. Stock carries a sliding trapdoor crescent metal buttplate which amazingly retains strong case-colors. Original dust cover is tight & slides smoothly. Action is tight & smooth. Comes with a Cody Factory Records Letter confirming configuration & dates. Rarely encountered today in such high surviving condition.
