RARE & FANTASTIC Winchester, Model 1886 SRC, CAL: .45-70, MFG: 1904, SN: 135135, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' Round barrel, Full Mag, Rare Double Set Triggers. The original select, straight grain, walnut stocks are excellent & solid, with darkened original varnish finish from use & protective oils. Lots of thin tiny scratches near buttplate & small dings & handling marks to the stocks. There is a larger 1'' contusion on the left side of stock near the front of the comb. The original blue finish on the barrel & mag is retained at 99%, with 95% receiver, with some speckled loss, but still retaining fantastic factory mirrored polishing marks on the receiver. These are typically lost with minimal use or handling. The case-hardened lever, hammer & buttplate all display strong amounts of case-colors. The left side of barrel is roll-stamped ''MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.'' & patent marking, ''PAT.OCT.14.1884. JAN. 20. 1885'' & ''45-70''. The three line ''MODEL 1886 -WINCHESTER- TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF.'' is roll-stamped on the upper receiver tang. The 1884/1885 patent dates are stamped in two lines behind the trigger followed by the SN ''135135''. Stock carries a smooth metal carbine buttplate. Retains original saddle ring. Fitted with a three leaf rear sight, marked 50 to 100 & a standard front carbine box sight. Bore is excellent & bright, with strong rifling. The action is tight & smooth. This is an exceptional example of a Model 1886 Winchester SRC, with fabulous case-colors & factory polish blued markings. Extremely collectible.* FFL & C&R Req. - Value: 15000 to 25000
