Winchester, Model 71 Short Tang, marked 348 W.C.F., MFG: 1951, SN: 33011, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Round barrel, 2/3 tube mag holds 4 cartridges. Improved model 1886, with total production of just 47,254. Although, checkered deluxe & smooth grip examples were produced in this model, fewer standard models with the smooth grips were actually produced. The original smooth & flat pistol grip wood stocks on this example are excellent & solid. The stocks carry the original finish with few handling marks or scuffs. The original metal blue finish is an amazing 98% overall. Mounted with original adjustable rear dovetail & front ramp hooded sights. Excellent bore. Stock carries original checkered metal buttplate.
