Savage, Model 1899, marked 22 H.P. Cal., MFG: 1913, SN: 141745, Lever Action Takedown Rifle, 20'' Tapered round barrel, The factory straight grip wood stocks are very good & solid, with the original finish thinning from use. There are numerous small scuffs, scratches or contusions. There is also a 1 1/2'' missing sliver of wood from the left tip edge of the forearm. The original metal blue finish rates 20% on the barrel, while the receiver has worn mostly gun metal gray. Replaced hard rubber buttplate, with some initials scratched into it. Barrel carries an adjustable rear & standard front sights. Bore is good, dark & rough, but with strong rifling. Cartridge counter on left side of receiver. Action is smooth & tight. Popular collector's caliber. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
