J. Stevens A & T Co., Model Tip-Up, .25-21 Stevens Cal., Single Shot Rifle, MFG: 1864-83, SN: 24893. 23 7/8'' Octagon barrel. Wood stock is very good & original, with light scratches & dings. Metal buttplate has even brown patina coloring. Left side of barrel is marked ''JS.EMNE&CO.CHICOPEE FALLS.MASS PAT SEPT.6.1864''. Barrel has no bluing left with even deep brown patina & speckled pitting. The receiver/frame & tangs are nickel finished, worn to about 40% coverage. Trigger guard has cleaned pitting & a brown patina. Stamped on the underside of the barrel at the breech ''25.21''. Bore is fair, with worn but visible rifling.Barrel carries a fixed ''V'' cut rear & blade front sights. Open hole in upper tang from possible previous tang sight. Solid locking breech. The release button, trigger & hammer all appear to function properly. Good overall condition & in a rare caliber designation. No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 400
