Remington, Model No. 2 Rolling Block, Marked .32 R.F., MFG: Antique, SN: 34085, Single Shot Rifle, 30 1/8'' Octagon barrel, The #2 is a smaller scale civilian model sporting rifle using a receiver patterned after the 1871 Army pistol. A number of the parts are interchangeable with the 1871, 1891 & 1902 pistols as well as the #7 target rifle. This rifle was produced in a wide variety of rim fire & center fire cartridges. The rim fire models with bar extractors are the most numerous.. The original stock & ebony tipped Schnabel forend are very good & solid. A hinged patch box has been added to the right side of stock. The stocks carry a mix of original finish & added finish as part of stock was sanded when patch box was installed. The finish is wearing thin & darkened with age, with numerous contusions & scratches. The metal blue on barrel has toned fully to a brown patina. The case-hardened receiver has also aged brown. Mounted with correct Remington metal buttplate, Standard fixed front & adjustable rear sights, SN stamped on lower tang behind trigger guard, barrel & forend. Bore is fair. A nice example. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 600
