FANTASTIC & CASED, Merkel, Model 140 Safari, CAL: 375 H&H Magnum, MFG: N/A, SN: A375166, Break Action SxS Rifle, 23 5/8'' (60cm) barrels. Merkel guns are truly custom, hand-made & master-engraved hunting rifles, which are made to customers' specific orders. A safari hunting rifle must be robust, accurate & reliable. The Merkel 140 Safari Double Rifle easily surpasses these requirements. It offers a combination of aesthetics & functionality based on over a century of gun-making experience. In terms of performance, the 140 Safari Double Rifle provides exceptional accuracy & an instant follow-up shot. This example has a modified Anson & Deeley system / Greener locking mechanism with double underlug locking. The half-luxus stock is composed of premium Grade-4 Turkish walnut, that displays an attractive design, with perfect balance. As a testament to Markel's devotion to the gun-making art, all of the 140 Safari Double Rifle engravings are done entirely by hand. The entirety of the receiver is exquisitely engraved in a European like ornamental scroll, with vignettes on either side; an elephant in a safari outback setting on the left & a water buffalo in a similar jungle like setting on the right. The break lever, trigger guard & barrel ends are also tastefully engraved in the same style engraving. The immaculate checkered, cheeked Grade-4 Turkish walnut is excellent, with minor handling marks. The metal blue finish on the barrels rates 99%+ & the polished coin-finished stainless steel receiver is excellent, with virtually zero blemishes. The trigger guard & break lever are also blued, rating 99%+. Bores are excellent, basically mint. The solid, matted rib holds an elevated ramp/blade front sight & fixed rear sight with additional single folding leaf. Buttstock carries a solid black recoil pad. Double triggers. This beautiful rifle comes in an equally beautiful case. The Emmebi (Italian) leather case, with high polished brass hardware, dark green interior, leather accents, & leather ''MERKEL'' patch on the lid, is overall excellent. Included in the case is the gun, (2) 375 H&H MAG snap caps & tan cloth sling with leather straps. The rifle & case make a magnificent combination. To protect the case, there is a green canvas zip-up cover, with brown leather accents, brass hardware & black handle. Rare opportunity to purchase one or both remarkable firearms. A.) If you signed up and asked us to bill your credit card & ship all items ASAP then that is what we will do. No further notice will be sent.
