American Gun Co., (likely made by Crescent). Model ''Knickerbocker'', CAL: 20 GA, MFG: Early 1900's, SN: 148861, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 23 3/4'' barrels. The original checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are very good & solid. They display an added layer of finish over the original finish & contusions, surface scrapes & scratches. There is a 2'' hairline crack at the wrist emanating from the upper tang. The metal blue finish is a combination of original blue & added finish, with 85% coverage. There are surface scratches & areas thinning to gun metal grey & a brown patina. The receiver is case-hardened, with faint tones & colors remaining in protected areas. Bores are good, with normal wear from use. Solid matted rib holds a single front bead. There is a small dent on the top of the right barrel. Buttstock carries a checkered black plastic buttplate.
