Werndl, Model 1867, CAL. 11.15X42R, MFG: 1867-88 SN: 868, rotating breech lock single shot rifle, 33 1/4 '' Round barrel. Unusual rotating lock breech loader. The shooter operated a revolving drum to load the cartridge. The nicely grained, straight grip Walnut stock, with normal staining, scratches & dings from age & use. There is a crack by the lock & hammer, typical to this model & a 4'' sliver of wood missing on right side beneath hammer. On top of barrel marked ''69''. Right side lock plate marked with circle & ''868''. Old military style steel buttplate with heavy cleaned pitting & brown patina. Rear ladder sight numbered 8 to 14. & 2 to 6 stamped on left side. Front sight is small pinched blade on block. Barrel & other metal surfaces have a brown patina, with cleaned pitting. Bore is good, dark & roughness but visible rifling. Retains original cleaning rod & sling swivels. Antique, No FFL Req - Value: 300 to 600
