Uruguayan Mauser DOVITIIS contract Model 71/94 carbine, CAL: 6.5x53.5mm Daudetau, MFG: 1876-77 (double stamp) SN: 2425, German made bolt action, 22 1/4'' barrel. The straight grip wood stock is good. w/ multiple scratches, dings & short cracks. It has ''262'' stamped on the right side of the stock & ''E.C.'' carved on to left side of the stock. Barrel & receiver have a brown patina, with about 10% of bluing left on barrel in protected areas. These guns were sent to France to be rechambered to the current caliber. The barrel is marked, ''S.F.A.P ST. DENIS''. Receiver marked with SN, a ''K. Mod 71'' proof mark & ''1876 1877''. Rear sight V- notch adjustable ladder 12 to 18 on the ladder, top V notch marked 20 for 2000 meters, flat adjustments go up to 1000 meters. Front sight is a windage adjustable inverted ''V''. Bore is very good, with strong rifling. Metal buttplate is worn, with brown patina. Mechanical function appears good. Bolt has a different SN, marked in 3 places, all match. No import stamps on rifle. Has correct clearing rod & sling swivels, with a vintage, possibly correct leather sling. Antique, NO FFL Req - Value: 200 to 400
