Khyber Pass copy, Martini Enfield , CAL: unknown, MFG: 1919 SN: 5600, Lever action falling block RIFLE. 30 1/2'' round barrel. The rifle is a well produced copy of a Martini Enfield MKIII, with numerous marking that are similar to authentic marking. The right side of receiver stampings: Crown-''V.R. - ENFIELD- 1919 - crown- ED'', left side is marked with S/N. Unfortunately, Queen Victoria passed away in 1901 & a rifle produced in 1919 would not have carried her crown stamping. This is one indication it is a replica produced Martini. Marked on barrel just ahead of receiver with: ''E''on left side of barrel ''6I6I'', right side of barrel is marked ''EN IELLE'' & proof markings. The straight grain, oil finished walnut stocks are good & solid, but do have multiple cracks in the stock, handguard & a 1 1/2'' missing pieces on the hand guard. There are 7 small metal pins in the stock at the wrist. The barrel & other metal surfaces retain 80% of a likely reblue, with rust spots. Bore is poor, with deep pitting & no visible rifling. Rear sight is ladder adjustable stamped with increments from 6 to 18 with rust under sight, Front sight is a inverted V, mounted on base. Three sling loops on stock & barrel bands, with the rear barrel band sliding loose. Metal buttplate. Cleaning rod presemt. This looks like a well built & nice replica, but these Khyber Pass rifles can very in quality of construction & steel. Please have inspected by a professional gunsmith before firing.
