BSA, Martini Cadet, CAL: .310 cadet, MFG: 1891-1949, SN: 52431, Falling block single shot rifle.. 25 1/4'' Round barrel. Marked on barrel on left side small ''E'', proof marks on right side of barrel & SN. Top of receiver has a kangaroo marked in it. Left side of receiver is marked ''MADE BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CoLTD'', ''TRADE MARKS'' & the BSA logo. Right side of receiver is marked ''COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA VIC 17912'' & S/N. The straight grain stock is very good, with multiple stamps on the right side, ''6/11'', a worn cartouche & ''17912''. There are numerous scratches & dings with no visible cracks. Stocks appear to have been cleaned or lightly sanded & carry a nicely done refinish. Barrel & receiver retain about 85% blue overall, with most wear on sharper edges, trigger guard & lever. Rear sight is V notched tangent adjustable, with markings on the ladder of 100, then 2 to 6 adjusrtment. Front sight is small pinched blade on block. Contains sling swivels on bottom of buttstock & on front barrel band. Smooth metal buttplate. Bore is in very good condition, shiny, with strong rifling. A cool Australian target rifle.
