Italian Terni Carcano, Model 1938 Short rifle CAL: 8mm mauser , MFG: 1943, SN: 1209, Bolt Action Rifle, 21'' round barrel. Post war coverterted to 8mm mauser. The straight grip stock is good & solid. It has short cracks behind the upper tang & on top of the stock by buttplate, & lots of contustions & scratches. There are two stock renforcing lugs. Upper handguard is likely a replacement. The metal blue finish is 60% overall, with areas of wear toning to a brown patina & some rust spotting. SN stamped on receiver end of barrel. with import marks & ''CARCANO ITALY'' end of barrel. The rifle is fitted with a fixed rear sight, with markings of ''7.9''. Front blade sight. Bore is very good, with some light rust spotting. Metal trapdoor buttplate, but no hole in stock. Sling swivels on left side of stock & barrel band. Action appears to cycle & function correctly. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 400
