Italian Terni Carcano, Model 1891 Short Rifle (Moschetto per Truppe Speciali Modello 1891 Modificato), CAL: 6.5 mm, MFG: 1918, SN: A128, Bolt Action Rifle, 17 1/2'' round barrel. The straight grip stock is good, with numerous contusions, scratches, scrapes, nicks & dings. The stock appears dark from use & added oils. Stock has ''SN A128'' & a worn cartouche stamped on left side. Upper handguard is a bit loose & has 2 short cracks at barrel end. The metal finish On barrel & trigger guard is 70%, while the receiver has worn metal grey, with a thinbrown patina, Barrel markings are: ''SG'' in a oval stamp, S/N, ''TERNI'' with arrow, ''FARE 24 TERNI'' in oval stamp, & '' AT'' stamp. The rifle is fitted with adjustable rear sight, with graduations from 6 to 15 & front blade sight. Bore is dark but good. Metal buttplate. Sling swivels on bottom of stock & barrel band, with vintage leather sling. Rifle has some tiny white paint spoeckles on wood & metal. Action appears to cycle & function correctly.
