Swiss Vetterli, Model 1869/71 Carbine, CAL: 10.4 Swiss RF, MFG: 1869-89, SN: 110086, Bolt Action Rifle, 30 3/4'' barrel. The straight grip wood stocks, with box checkered forend, are very good, with minor contusions & surface scrapes. The stock displays a ''D7+CI'' cartouche near the upper buttplate tang & a small faint cartouche on the right side of stock. The metal finish has toned to a mix of gun metal grey/brown patina. Bore is excellent & bright, with strong rifling. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight, with graduation marks 3 to 10 & a fixed blade front sight on a block. Buttstock carries a smooth metal buttplate. The SN on the barrel & receiver are matching. There are other numbers/various proof marks on the barrel & a part # on the bolt. Sling swivels appear original. Cleaning rod present. Fairly rare in this carbine version. Nice original example. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 400
