Swiss Vetterli, Model 1869/71, CAL: 10.4 Swiss RF, MFG: 1869-89, SN: 142000, Bolt Action Rifle, 33'' barrel. The straight grip wood stocks, with box checkered forend, are very good, with minor contusions, surface scrapes & edge chipping. The stocks appear dark, most likely from normal use & added oils. The stock displays a small faint cartouche on the right side of stock. The metal finish has entirely toned to a deep plum/dark brown patina. Bore is good, with visible rifling, but dark, with roughness & pitting. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight, with graduation marks from 3 to 10 & a small fixed blade front sight. Buttstock carries a smooth metal buttplate. There are proof marks & SN stamped on barrel to the left of the rear sight, ''SWISS CROSS- WAFFENFABRIK BERN- SN,'' stamped on left side of receiver. Matching partial SN on bolt, buttplate & magazine floorplate. Has sling swivels & cleaning rod. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 400
