Swiss Vetterli, Model 81, CAL: 10.4 Swiss RF, MFG: 1881-89 SN: 210413, Bolt Action Rifle, 33'' barrel. The straight grip wood is good, with multiple scratches, scrapes & contusions. There are also a couple of small missing wood chips near the top of the buttplate. The buttstock has a ''D4+CI'' cartouche on top of buttstock & a small ''+'', shield, & ''R'' cartouche on right side next to a ''II'' stamping. The tip of the stock is broken under the cap, causing it to fit lossely & the cleaning rod cavity has a tight full length crack. The metal blue finish has fully toned to a dark brown patina, with worn areas of metal grey & cleaned pitting over the majority of the rifle. Bore is fair, with rust, but visible rifling. Buttstock carries a crescent metal buttplate. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight, with graduation marks from 3 to 12 & small fixed blade front sight. There are proof marks & SN stamped in barrel around rear sight. ''Swiss Cross - WAFFENFABRIK BERN, SN, M81'' stamped on left side of receiver. Matching SN on bolt, magazine floorplate, barrel & receiver. Bayonet lug & sling swivels are missing. Action appears fully functional & tight. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 400
