Japanese Military Arisaka Model Type 99, CAL: 7.7mm, MFG: 1939 -1945 by Nagoyo Arsenal, SN: 6088, Japanese made bolt action rifle. 26'' barrel. Stock is two piece Japanese walnut that is in good, despite the numerous scratches & dings from military use. It has one large gouge (shrapnel hit?) at top left of pistol grip. Wood to metal fit is very good. The chrysanthemum (mum) is intact on receiver. ''Type 99'' also stamped on receiver ring. SN & arsenal stamps on left side of receiver. Barrel & other metal parts show 40% blue coverage, with normal wear & some rust speckling throughout. Rear sight is graduated to 1500 meters & original front blade sight, with protective ears. Bore is good, with some darkening, but visible rifling. Original front & rear sling swivel. Buttstock carries original military buttplate. Action fully functional & very tight. Overall condition is very good, with all parts appearing original & complete. Japanese Arisaka are one of the strongest military bolt actions ever made. This is a good example with the complete mum & low SN! FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
