Colt, Model 1860 Army, CAL: 44, MFG: 1863, SN: 118868, Single Action Ball/Percussion Revolver, 8'' barrel. Civil War era revolver. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: ''ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S AMERICA'' & ''COLTS PATENT'' is faintly stamped on the left side of the frame. The cylinder is marked, but not legible. The one piece walnut grip is very good, with minor contusions, nicks, dings & edge wear. There is a chip on the bottom front corner of the left side of grip. The grip displays two very faint cartouches, the left, ''HWW'' for Henry W. Wilcox & the right appears to be , ''JT'' for John Taylor, both of which were Colt inspectors & although they were inspectors for different SN ranges, the two ranges do overlap making the mixed cartouches correct. The metal finish is entirely grey, with small areas of light brown patina & areas of spotting/pitting. The brass trigger guard carries a ''C'' stamp & matching SN. Bore is good & clean, dark & roughness, but with strong rifling. Original sight. All matching SN on the on the bottom of the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard and back strap. A well used, but very good Civil War era example* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 2500
