Colt, Model 1849 Cartridge Converted, CAL: 38 RF, MFG: 1849. S/N: 10147, Single Action Revolver. 4 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked '' COLT'S PT F A MT CO. HARTFORD CT U.S.A''. Left side of frame marked '' PAT.JULY 25 1871. PAT.JULY 2. 1872.''. Although the left side of trigger guard is marked the original ''36 CAL'', the current caliber is .38 RF due to the conversion. The cylinder is marked ''COLTS PATENT NO 0147''. The one piece wood grips are good, with multiple small contusions & surface scrapes. The bottom of barrel, frame, trigger guard, butt & cylinder all display matching SN's, either full or partial. Cylinder has faint stagecoach scene. The steel surfaces have toned to a mix of metal grey & spotty brown patina. The brass trigger guard has an aged patina. Bore is fair, dark & worn from use. Barrel holds a single front bead. Action & cylinder timing appear to function properly. No ejection rod. A unique antique revolver with lots of use & history. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 400 to 1200
