Colt, Model ''Police Positive'', CAL: .38 SPL, MFG: 1938, SN: 459966, Double Action Revolver, 4'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked ''COLTS PT FA MFG CO HARTFORD CT USA PAT'D AUG 5 1884, JULY 4 1905, OCT 5 1926'', the left side of the barrel is marked ''POLICE POSITIVE 38 SPECIAL'', the right side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt & the butt is marked with the full SN. The right checkered plastic grip carries the Rampant & is excellent. The left grip matches nicely, is also excellent, but does not display the Rampant Colt. Its likely both are replacements. The well worn & speckled metal surfaces may have had an older reblue, but the finish has toned to a darker gray with some thinning area toning to a brown patina. Bore is very good, with intermittent spotting near the muzzle & cylinder. Factory sights. Bottom butt strap is stamped ''B-1522-''. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
