Description

Manhattan Firearms. Model: Pocket tip-up. Cal :22. MFG: 1860's-70's. S/N: 2880. Single action revolver. 3'' Barrel. Seven shot. Factory engraved. The original walnut grips are in excellent condition, with original varnish & light wear. Top of barrel is marked '' MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS MF'G.CO NEW YORK''. Bottom of barrel is marked '' PATENTED DEC.27 1859''. The barrel sides display decorative scroll engraving, left in the white, with light spotting. The cylinder scene on this revolver features settlers & Native Americans in a desperate fight. Cylinder scenes served multiple purposes at this time, primarily to make a gun difficult to forge. Cylinder has some front to back movement. The brass frame displays a nicely aged patina. Bore is fair, light pitting with worn rifling. Factory sights. Spur trigger. Action & cylinder timing appears to function properly. Antique, No FFL Req - Value: 200 to 800
