Savage, Model 1917, CAL: 380 ACP, Semi-Auto, MFG: 1920, SN: 17089B, 4 1/4'' barrel, The Mod 1917 is a variant of the Mod 1907 & was manufactured from 1920-28. The Mod 1917 is easily distinguishable from the 1907 by the oversized trapezoid grips. The vast majority were produced in 32 ACP, with approximately 1 in 10 chambered in 380 ACP, making them much more scarce & collectible. The barrels on the 380's are approximately 1/2'' longer. The original checkered plastic grips on this example are excellent & feature a Savage Indian warrior profile logo. The original metal blued finish is excellent, rating 97%, with loss due to some minor scratches in one area on right side of frame & at muzzle. Trigger still displays vivid case-colors. Bore is excellent. Original fixed sights. Spur hammer. Factory double-stack magazine. Tight action. A high condition original example & also very collectible in the scarce 380 caliber. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1200
