Winchester, Model 1876, Third Variation, .40-60 Cal., MFG. 1884, SN: 43038, Lever Action Rifle, 28'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. The original straight grip wood stocks are very good & solid, however it appears that it was sanded & refinished long ago, as some of the metal is proud to the wood. There are lots of minor scrapes, scratches & contusions on the worn & darkened finish. The metal surfaces have worn mostly gun metal gray, with a thin spotty layer of brown patina, with spotty remains of original blue in more protected areas. Bore is good, with spotty areas of pitting amongst strong rifling. Stock carries a crescent metal, sliding trapdoor buttplate. The barrel is fitted with an adjustable rear sight & a small blade front sight. Action is stiff & dust cover functions normally. Overall nice appearance on this Old West 1876. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
