Winchester, Model 1886, 40-65 WCF, MFG. 1888 (Antique), SN: 12897, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel, Full mag., Early 3rd year case-hardened rifle. The factory wood stocks are excellent, solid & original. The stock displays the original finish, with very few minor handling marks. The original metal blue finish shows 98% coverage on barrel, 95% on mag, with loss due to density thinning. Receiver, buttplate, lever & forend cap are case-hardened, displaying strong outlines & muted case-colors. The sliding bolt retains a full 98% of its original bright blue, while loading gate retains about 70%. Fitted with an original 1886 marked ladder rear sight & early front sight. Bore is excellent. Winchester crescent metal buttplate. Set trigger. This excellent original condition rifle in 40-65 caliber & is a very collectible early case-hardened antique rifle.* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 6000 to 8000
