Marlin, Model 1881, marked 40-60 Cal., MFG. 1883, SN: 5656, Lever Action Rifle, 28'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. The original wood stocks are vey good & solid, displaying the original finish. The stocks display numerous minor contusions, scratches or scrapes. There is a short hairline crack emanating from the upper tang & two tiny chips at the upper & lower right corners against the receiver. The metal surfaces have an even chocolate brown patina, with some wear to a gun metal gray. Double set triggers. Barrel carries original front & rear sights. Bore is very good, with some roughness amongst strong rifling. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. Action remains tight & smooth. Comes with a Cody Factory Records Look-up Sheet confirming current configuration. The rifle has a wonderful old West esthetic & is an early era collectible lever.* Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 3000
