Winchester, Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, .22 WCF Cal., MFG. 1891, SN: 50569, Lever Action Single Shot Rifle, 29 7/8'' Full octagon #1 marked barrel. The wood stocks are very good & solid, as lightly sanded & nicely refinished. There are several older tiny contusions & scratches remaining, along with a glued chip at the right shoulder of wrist & a small fill at corner of lower tang & receiver. There is also a bit of chipping & a tine hairline emanating from the end of the upper tang. The forearm has the ebony inlay at tip. The metal finish on the barrel remains at 40%, with light pitting & speckling. The receiver appears to have been case-hardened, but is worn mostly gun metal gray with no case-color remaining. Bore is fair, with roughness & pitting amongst visible rifling. The rifle is fitted with a large aperture disk flip-up Marbles tang sight, while the barrel carries an adjustable rear & Rocky Mountain silver blade front sights. Metal crescent buttplate. ''WCF'' is stamped under the forearm on the barrel. A nice appearing old single shot rifle in a fairly rare caliber. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
