Winchester, Model 87 (1885) Low Wall Winder Musket, CAL: 22 S, MFG: 1918, SN: 126986, Lever Action Falling Block Rifle, 28'' round barrel. There is a ''US'' & the firebomb stamped on the upper tang. The straight grip & finger grooved full length wood stocks are excellent, displaying the original finish & a thin layer of added oils. There is a 2 1/2'' hairline crack on the upper comb emanating from the buttplate tang & other minor scrapes, contusions & nicks. The metal blue finish rates 80% overall, with spotting & toning to a brown patina on the barrel. Bore is excellent & bright, with light intermittent pitting. The receiver carries a Lyman #41 receiver sight & the barrel has an elevated blade front sight. The buttstock carries a smooth metal carbine buttplate. Front & back sling loops.
