RARE Remington, Model 14R CARBINE, .30 REM Cal., MFG: 1919, SN: 65629, Pump Auction Rifle, 18 1/2'' Round barrel, The original wood stocks are excellent & solid. There are 3'' hairline cracks on each side of the wrist which is very common with these pump Remington's. There is also, a 3'' crack at the forend tip, with a pin at the tip to stabilize tip. They appear carry the original finish. The stocks have an excellent overall appearance, with few scratches or contusions. The original metal blue finish rates 95% on the barrel, 90% on the receiver, with additional wear to about 85% on the mag tube & action. Bore is excellent. Stock fitted with the original upside-down teardrop metal buttplate found on most carbines. Matching SN's on the belly of the receiver for the front half of rifle & matching SN on the inside of the receiver on the trigger guard of the lower half the rifle. Action is tight & functions well. These carbines were popular along trap lines or as brush hunting rifles due to their shorter length. Only 125,000 model 14's & its variants of 14R, 14 1/2, & 14 1/2R rifles were produced. The vast majority of these were the standard length Model 14, with the carbines being the rare variation. This original rifle is very nice & quite collectible as an example of an early Remington carbine pump. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 3000
