Winchester, Model 70 Classic Super Grade, marked 338 WIN MAG Cal., MFG: Modern, SN: G50995, Bolt Action Rifle. 26'' Round barrel, The original checkered, cheeked & metal capped pistol grip walnut stock is excellent. The stock has a straight comb, a black nose cap & displays wonderful scalloped grain, The rifle carries the original factory finish, but has also been professionally touched up on the lower portion of the stock. There are a few very minor contusions & light scratches. The original metal blue finish is 97% overall, with the receiver, bolt handle & trigger guard toning a lovely plum color. The left side of the barrel is marked ''-WINCHESTER MODEL 70 338 WIN. MAG.- / -MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CT U.S.A.-'', the right is marked ''-CLASSIC SUPER GRADE-''. The top-rear of the barrel is marked with an oval ''WP'' proof. The left side of the receiver is marked ''WINCHESTER / -TRADE MARK-''. The right side of the receivers chamber ring is marked ''G50995''. The bolt body is hand-scribed ''0995''. The floorplate is marked ''-SUPER GRADE-''. Bore is excellent, shiny & bright. The top of the receiver is factory drilled & tapped for a scope mount, as there is no provision for iron sights. Stock carries an orange/red rubber Winchester buttpad & Super-Grade inlaid sling plate provisions. 14'' LOP over pad.
