BOXED, Remington, Model 700 M24 SWS, CAL: 7.62 NATO, MFG: 1988 - Pres, SN: RR40180H, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' barrel. Remington obtained the original contract for these U.S. Military weapons in 1988 & the Army continued to receive M24's from Remington until 2010. Shortly there after, Remington won the contract to convert all the M24's to the M2010 ESR. Remington also took some of those utilized M24 rifles & fully factory refurbished them & make them available as the M24 SWS Collector Edition rifle. This is an example of one of those rifles. Priority as to who could purchase these rifles started with current active duty snipers & then passed through several priority layers, meaning not just anyone could obtain one of these rifles. The intent of restoration of the Collector Edition M24s was not to give these rifles a new brand appearance, therefore Remington intentionally retained original stocks as they came back from the troops in the field. The pistol grip stock on this example, has an excellent protective coating. The matte black finish on the receiver, barrel, trigger guard & floorplate are excellent, retaining 99% coverage. Bore is excellent & bright, with strong, crisp rifling. The receiver carries the original Leupold Ultra M3A 1042mm fixed-power scope. Buttstock carries a HS Precision high quality adjustable buttplate, with turn knob system that adjusts from 12''-14.5'' LOP. Dual sling swivels. Comes with a brown leather sling, new in the packaging. Come in its new Remington cardboard box. A rare & special piece to add to any Remington or military collection.
