RARE! Remington, No. 4 American Boy Scout, CAL: 22S, MFG: 1913, SN: N/A, Single Shot Rolling Block Rifle, 28'' barrel. Only made in the year 1913, shortly after Boy Scouts of America came into existence. The left side of the receiver is marked ''AMERICAN BOY SCOUT'', the barrel is marked with the Remington Trademark logo, along with the caliber & two line address. The straight grip wood stock is good, with multiple contusions, scrapes, nicks & dings. The metal blue finish has toned to a mix of brown patina with areas of metal grey. Bore is fair, dark & rough, with pitting & spotting amongst worn riling. The barrel holds a flip-up rear sight & blade front sight. Buttstock carries a smooth metal buttplate. Three sling loops, two on the stock & one on the barrel band. Comes with a correct style reproduction bayonet & sheath. One of only approximately 1,500 manufactured, making this example scarce.
