Colt, Model 1917 U.S Army, CAL: 45 ACP, MFG: 1920, SN: 276333, Double Action Revolver, 5 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrel has a two-line address ''COLT'S PT FA MFG CO HARTFORD CT PAT'D AUG 5 1884 JUNE 5 1900 JULY 4 1905'', the underside of the barrel is marked ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY'', the left side of the barrel is marked ''COLT DA 45'', the left side of the frame is marked with an ''eagle head/S20'' above the cylinder release & the Rampant colt is stamped above the left grip. The butt of the revolver is marked ''U.S ARMY MODEL 1917 No. 124375''. The refinished wood grips are good, but the metal is proud to the wood & there are dings, scrapes & staining. The previously restored metal blue finish rates 80% overall, with polishing lines on the frame, with numerous small blemishes. The straps were Japan black refinished, with most still retained on the backstrap & worn from the front strap. Bore is excellent, with clear rifling. The barrel holds a blade front sight & the receiver has an integrated groove. Lanyard swivel loop is present. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
