Colt, Open Top Pocket Revolver, CAL: 22, MFG: 1874, SN: 26119, Single Action Revolver, 2 3/8'' barrel. The Colt Open Top Pocket Model Revolver was alongside the Colt House Revolver, one of the two first metallic cartridge rear-loading revolvers manufactured by Colt. It also was one of the first pocket metallic cartridge revolvers made by the company. The top of the barrel is marked with a two-line address ''COLT'S PT. F. A MFG CO HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.'' & the left side of the frame is faintly marked with the caliber. The SN is stamped on the butt of the gun & the bottom of the barrel. The two-piece wood grips are good, they display multiple tiny contusions, edge wear & surface scrapes The brass frame has a nicely aged patina. The finish on the barrel & cylinder has toned to an even brown patina, with spotting, marks & contusions to the metal. Bore is fair, dark & rough, but with proud rifling. The barrel holds a crescent blade front sight & the top of the hammer has a small notch that acts as a rear sight when the hammer is cocked. Action & cylinder timing appear to function properly. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 400
