Colt, Thuer Derringer, CAL: 41 RF, CAL: 1875-1912, SN: 9422 (under grips), Single Action Pistol, 2 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked ''COLT'' & the left side of the frame bears the ''.41CAL'' marking. The wood grips are good, displaying contusions, scratches & flaking worn finish. The nickel finish has retained around 30% coverage, with areas of wear exposing the brass frame & a brown patina on the barrel. Bore is good, but dark & with small areas of spotting. The barrel holds a half moon blade front sight. The No.3 Colt Derringer, also known as the Thuer model after a patented design by F. Alexander Theur, was the most popular of the three Colt Derringer models. Original production ran from 1875 through until 1912 with 45,000 of this model being made.
