Fur Getter Trap Gun, CAL: 22LR, MFG: N/A, SN: N/A, Single Action, 6 5/8'' barrel. There are no markings on any piece of this kit. The frame is made of brass, lacquered to prevent rust, the bait rod is made of a combination of hollow steel tubing & solid steel rod, properly tapered so it can easily be driven into the ground. The bronze barrel is of better use in this scenario than a steel barrel due to the resistance it has to corrosive action of fired powder. Comes with a ground stake, tree stake & extra 6'' barrel. The basic concept of the Fur Getter is to attract a wide variety of animals right to the muzzle of this contraption through the use of the baited hook, where they attempt to run away with said bait, which in turn pulls the hook which is attached to the trigger. The included period advertisement states it can kill any animal from the smallest weasel to the largest wolf without causing any damage to the fur. Comes in a hand crafted wood crate made from what appears to be a Western shotshell box. A neat contraption made in the early 1900's. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 500
