RARE!!! Frankford Arsenal 50-70 wood ammunition shipping crate, dated April 1867, with one sealed correct 40Rd box of bar-primed ammunition. Has paperwork, a hand written letter & a letter to a gun store with Colt parts and prices dated 1963. Crate has hinges on the back that are not original, and has screw holes from a hasp that was also not original and is now missing. Crate is worn/aged & dark green in color with stains, chips and dings. Faint/worn black and yellow stenciling on lid, all four sides and inside lid. Legible markings are, on lid, ''U.S.N.O. 1 1 5'', ''MAJ. J.R. EDIE'', ''OMAH?'', ''NEBRA???''. Front marked ''Lt. Col. W.H. LEWIS'', ''Comdg. Camp Douglas'', ''UT'' . Left & right side marked ''1000 CENTRE PRIMED'', ''METALLIC CARTRIDGES CAL. 50''. Back is marked ''FROM'', ''FRANKFORD'', ''ARSENAL''. Inside of lid is marked ''FRANKFORD ARSENAL'', ''APRIL 1867''. Ammunition box is Excellent +, crate is Very Good ++ - Value: 3000 to 6000

If we do not hear from you one of two things will happen:
A.) If you signed up and asked us to bill your credit card & ship all items ASAP then that is what we will do. No further notice will be sent.
B.) If you signed up and wanted to send us a check, then your invoice will be mailed to you after we figure the shipping. (Please note: If you want to speed this up just send us an email after the auction)
