Winchester, Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, MARKED .25 WCF Cal., MFG. 1893, SN: 60777, Lever Action Single Shot Rifle, 28'' Full octagon #1 stamped barrel. The barrel length is a special order feature as standard was 26''. The original wood stocks are excellent & solid, retaining the majority of the original factory finish. There are some minor contusions, handling marks & light scratches. The forearm has the ebony inlay at tip. The original metal blue finish on the barrel has worn to a thinning brown patina with 40% coverage. The case-hardened receiver, block, lever, hammer & buttplate all have faded to a gun metal gray, with some case-colors remaining in protected areas. Bore is good, with roughness amongst thinning rifling. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman flip-up tang sight, while the barrel carries the original adjustable rear & small blade front sights. Metal crescent buttplate. The barrel under the forend is stamped ''WCF.'' for the caliber. Comes with a Cody Winchester Factory Records Letter confirming configuration & dates.
