Tigre (GAC), Model 1919 ''The Spanish Winchester'', CAL: Marked 44L. (For 44 Largo, the Spanish version of the 44-40), MFG: 1919-38, SN: N/A, Lever Action Rifle, 20'' Round Barrel, Full mag. A copy of the Winchester 1892 carbine. It became the official Civil Guard standard issue weapon for several years. The light weight & firing capacity of these arms made them highly attractive for the Royal Guard & they also became a favorite of the Civil Guard Cavalry Brigade & the Railroad Division. The original walnut stocks are very good & solid, having been refinished. The forearm does have a slender 3'' sliver missing from the upper right edge & the stock also display several small handling marks & contusions. The barrel retains 80% of the original factory blue, 60% on the receiver & mag tube, with areas of thinning toning to a brown patina. Bore is good & bright, but with patches of roughness amongst strong rifling. Barrel carries a Marbles folding leaf rear sight & carbine box front sight. Stock carries a metal carbine buttplate. Original saddle ring, with leather strap & original sling loops. Smooth tight action. A unique little carbine, with an interesting history. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
