Remington, Hepburn No. 3, CAL: 38-50, MFG: 1880's, SN: 4025, Side Lever Falling Block Rifle, 26'' Half octagon/half round. This rifle has been fully & professionally restored. The top flat of barrel is stamped ''E REMINGTON & SONS ILION, N.Y'' & the bottom of the barrel is stamped with the caliber. The left side of the receiver is stamped ''HEPBURNS PAT OCT 7TH 1879''. The checkered & round knob pistol grip wood stock & non-checkered forearm are excellent. The metal blue finish on the barrel rates 95% overall. The receiver, buttplate & forend tip are case-hardened, retaining full & bright case-colors. The bore has been re-sleeved & is excellent & bright. The upper tang holds a flip-up adjustable peep sight, with large aperture disc, with graduations from 0 to 250 yds, by 25 yd increments. The barrel holds a blade front sight & no rear sight provisions. Buttstock carries a smooth, curved metal buttplate. Caliber is stamped on the underside of the barrel.
