A-Square, Model ''Caesar'' LEFT HAND, CAL: 416 REM, MFG: 1997, SN: G176915, Left- Handed Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' barrel. This is a special order, custom built & high quality rifle. Back in 1997, this rifle had a base retail price of $3295, before the many added upgrades. The Grade A Fancy Walnut stock was a $250 dollar upgrade. The ebony tip was referred to as the ''Accent Package (90 degree)'' & was a $100 upgrade. Inside the stock was a feature they called the ''Mercury Recoil Reducer'' (7 oz size), which added $150 to the bill. The Express sights were a $240 upgrade. The scope bases were $75, with the custom quick disconnect adding another $125. The barrel mounted swivels were an extra $60. Overall, the rifle as presented was over $4000 25 years ago. A-Square is no longer in business, but if possible to order this rifle today, the price would be much higher. The overall condition of the rifle is excellent, exhibiting little to no use. The flat pistol grip stock is excellent displaying only a couple tiny handling marks to the original finish. The matte Cerakote metal finish rates 99% overall. Bore is excellent, near mint. The buttstock carries a ventilated black rubber recoil pad. Comes fitted with a new $72 Brownell's Latigo black leather sling. Features this rifle has are as followed: Controlled Round Feed, Fort Knox Magazine Box, Match Quality Stainless Steel Barrel, Ever-Clear Bolt Handle, Positive/Retractor Safety, Expanded Magazine Capacity, Bench-Field Bedding. Comes with the original invoice, another secondary invoice from when more recently sold, original retail & dealer price lists, A-Square brochure & sales catalog, & paper articles regarding A-Square rifles. When it comes to African Safari rifles, A-Square was at the one time considered top of the list, chosen by many of the top professional hunters in Africa as well as the most knowledgeable hunters in the world.
