Colt, Lightning Small Frame, CAL: 22, MFG: 1888, SN: 1468, Pump Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon barrel. The straight grip wood stock & checkered forend are very good, with minor contusions & scrapes. There is a tight 2'' hairline crack at the wrist & there is a small chip at the right corner of the wrist & receiver. The original metal blue finish rates 80% on the barrel, 60% on the receiver & mag, with areas of thinning & wear toning to a mix of gun metal gray/brown patina. Bore is good, appears a bit rough, with spotting. The upper tang holds a large disk Marbles peep sight, while the barrel holds a blank filled rear dovetail & flip-up globe front sight. Buttstock carries a Colt marked, checkered buttplate. An earlier & nicely configured Colt Lightning. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
