CASED Westley Richards & Co, Drop Lock High Grade, CAL: 12GA, MFG: Early 1900's, SN: G4398, Break Action SxS Shotgun, Choke: MOD/IMP CYL, 28'' barrels. The barrel is marked ''WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO LONDON''. Both side plates are marked ''WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO'', as is the top of the receiver area of the break lever. The original finely checkered & straight grip wood stocks are excellent. The lower half the stock has been cleaned, possibly lightly sanded, & refinished, while the rest of the wood retains the original finish, with few minor handling marks, light scratches or scuffs to the finish. There's a silver inscription medallion on the bottom comb, with the initials ''P.B.''. The metal blue finish on the barrels rates 95%. The underside of the barrels stamped ''IMP. CYL./MOD.'', ''Westley Richards Steel'', ''Nitro Proof'', ''Choke'', the matching SN & with numerous proof stampings. The sides & top of receiver are case-hardened, with lovely case-colors remaining. The bottom plate of the receiver & trigger guard are blued, rating 95%. The entire receiver, break lever, trigger guard, forend components & screws are all finely hand engraved in a floral/vine scroll pattern. Bores are very good, displaying normal & honest use. The solid matted rib holds a small mid rib ivory bead & the remains of a broken off front ivory bead. Buttstock carries a solid red rubber recoil pad. Matching SN stamped on lower tang, water table, barrels & forend wood. Comes in original leather case, with green interior & Westley Richard's plaque, as well as an oil container, bore snake in leather pouch, & 12GA tool, with horn handle. DAC 1 5/8:, DOH 2 1/4'', LOP 14'' over pad, Rare drop lock shotgun. This is the gun your buddies wish they could have! Here's an opportunity to own an excellent condition high grade box lock shotgun!
