Walshs Blackburn. Model: Hammerless Double. CAL: 12GA. MFG: 1904-25. S/N: 7032. Break action SxS. 27'' Barrels. Like many European doubles that were utilized at the various hunt clubs, this gun was restored or reconditioned after the hunting season in preparation of the next season. The original checkered straight wrist wood stocks are excellent, as professionally refinished. The stock has fabulous grain, with very few handling marks. The forend has a professionally replaced 1 1/4'' sliver repair along the left edge & the finish has been touched up to match. There is a blank gold inscription medallion in belly of stock. The restored metal blue finish on barrels rates 90%. The case-hardened receiver displays matted case-colors. The breech of barrels, receiver, lower tang, upper tang & lever break are all beautifully hand engraved, with ornamental & scroll engraving around game scenes. The left side of receiver is engraved with four pheasants, right side has five sage hens, while the belly of receiver is engraved with a retriever holding a mallard duck in its mouth. The lower tang is marked with S/N, top of barrel rib marked, ''WALSHS. BLACKBURN'', bottom of right barrel is marked, ''12'', ''17'', ''NITRO PROOF'', ''1 1/8 OZ'', ''2 1/2'''', ''B'', ''12 C'' in Diamond, crown over ''BV'', crown over ''BP'', crown over ''NP'', bottom of left barrel is marked, ''12'', ''64'', ''NITRO PROOF'', ''1 1/8 OZ'', ''2 1/2'''', ''CHOKE'', ''12 C'' in diamond, crown over ''BV'', crown over ''BP'', crown over ''NP'', both barrels marked with same proof mark further up barrel on bottom. Water table is marked with a crown over ''BV'' stamped twice, ''64'', ''17'', & ''SIMPSON LTD G'BURG IL''. Bores are excellent, bright, with little wear. Single silver bead sight. Custom checkered stock buttend, thus no factory buttplate. Split ejectors. 14 3/4'' LOP, 1 1/2'' DOC, 1 7/8'' DAH. A wonderful Scottish built double shotgun. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
