Springfield Armory. Model: M1 Garand. Cal: 30-06. MFG: 1941. S/N: 271474. Semi-auto Rifle. 24'' round barrel. The pistol grip wooden stock is excellent, as lightly sanded & nicely refinished. Beautiful grain. The cartouches on stock are present but faint & hard to read. The barrel & receiver finish rates 90%, with some wear dings on the barrel & normal wear from use. Gas tube has been Japan black refinished. Rear of receiver is marked, ''U.S. RIFLE'', ''CAL. .30M1'', ''SPRINGFIELD ARMORY'', S/N. Bolt is marked ''D28287-2SA'', ''J8A''. Barrel is stamped, ''S-A 5-4''. Gas port stamped, ''D-35449-SA''. OP rod Type 3 stamped ''D35382 3 SA''. Type 2 trigger guard stamped ''46025-1-SA''. Type 1 flush nut rear sight. Type 2 safety stamped ''C46015-6SA''. Type 3 hammer stamped ''C46008-2SA''. Type 3 Rear sight cover. Bore is excellent. Front sight blade with protective wings, windage & elevation adjustable aperture rear sight. Military style trapdoor buttplate with spots of wear rust & cleaning rod & rags inside. Comes with sling marked ''MRT'' on factory sling & stacking loops. This is a excellent pre-war M1 Garand & is a nice collectors piece. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 3500
