Brno Banska Bystrica, Model: K98K, CAL: 8mm Mauser, MFG: 1945, S/N: 5649a, Bolt Action Rifle, 23'' Round Barrel. The stock appears to be a modern replaced pistol grip wood stock. It's excellent, with little to no wear. The belly of the stock has S/N stamped into it, upper handguard appears to be period correct with hairline crack going end to end lengthwise. The metal has been reblued & the overall finish is 95% with little to no wear. The top front of receiver is marked, ''MOD.98'', ''DOU.45'', left front side of receiver is marked with S/N, left side of barrel is marked with, faint Waffenamt, ''5694'', right side of barrel is marked, ''HF'', bolt handle, front barrel band, magazine floor plate, bottom of receiver & buttplate are marked, ''5694'', Gas shield & rear barrel band marked, ''94'', back of sight marked, ''7770''. Bore is excellent, bright & shiny. The barrel holds a blade front sight & v-notch tangent rear sight marked 1 to 20. The buttstock carries a military style buttplate, with hole drilled through the side for disassembly of the bolt. This rifle appears to be an after war re-arsenal Czech k98k or a nicely done rebuild, would make a great shooter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
