Mauser, Model K98K, CAL: 8mm Mauser, MFG: 1945, S/N:16496a, Bolt Action Rifle, 23'' Round Barrel. The original semi-pistol grip wood stock is very good with scratches, dings & normal wear from use & age. The right side of stock in sling well has a boxed ''K9'', belly of stock is marked, ''6496''. The metal finish on receiver rates 75% overall with spots of gray. The barrel rates 50%, has light cleaned pitting, brown patina & light scratches. The front top of receiver is marked, ''MOD.98'', ''SVW45'', front left side of receiver is marked with Waffenamt & S/N, front right of receiver is marked with proof marks, barrel is marked with Waffenamt on left side & top is marked, ''? 4 4 N'', bolt handle marked, ''6496''. Bore is very good bright with proud rifling but some spots of roughness. The barrel holds a blade front sight, & a rear v-notch tangent rear sight marked 1 to 20 on top & bottom. The buttstock carries a military buttplate with hole drilled through the side for disassembly of the bolt. Comes with 20 Rd ''Trench'' mag that's marked with proof marks &, ''1938'', ''.
