Maltby. Model SMLE No4 MK1 Sporterized. CAL: .303 British. MFG. 1942, S/N: 12510. Bolt action Rifle. 25 1/2'' barrel. The sporterized semi-pistol grip stock is fair, stock has been cut on back & front, upper handguard is missing, no finish remaining, stock has been sanded in spots, tape near buttplate, scraped, dings & wear from use. The metal finish rates 50% on receiver with rub wear & scratches, the metal finish on the barrel rates 80% with scratches. Left side of wrist is marked, ''M.1944'', ''BM'' & S/N, left side of receiver is marked, ''NO4 MK1 F (FTR)'', ''/49 BNI.NO4.MK1'', barrel has proof stamps. Bore is Fair with roughness, dark but with proud rifling. Simple front sight blade, rear two position aperture sight. Replaced wooden buttplate that has been screwed into place with holes in it. Missing safety. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 200
